Great money post!

August 18th, 2008

I’m just stumbling through my reader this morning, sorting through all the wonderful RSS feeds that I’ve subscribed to, and I found this great article linked by Wide Open Wallet. I’m actually past the first stage for one of my kids, but with my son who is ready to start Kindergarten (Monday - ACK!), this is perfect. I don’t have to worry about what to tell him when. Someone has already pointed out what looks like a solid plan!

And we all know how I feel about learning from other people’s mistakes, and taking advantage of their sum-ups.

Or if you don’t, well, I like them.

<strike>But is this an article or an advertisement website? I sort of feel like I stumbled upon one of those placeholder websites that sits in place of what used to be a great domain that got left behind. There are two solid columns of advertisements, after all - what is a girl supposed to think on first glance?</strike>

After a little bit of poking around, I did find some interesting articles, and I do want to add this site to my RSS feed. However, I wonder what the bounce rate is for this site for people who think they’ve just stumbled upon an advertisment?

Edit: I used to run this website review service called UnFluffed, where people would ask me to give a review, and I wouldn’t hold anything back. Apparently this week I forgot that David didn’t ask for that service, and I was harsh in this post. I apologize, and will watch myself in the future.

Thanks for the, um, mention, but my site has been around for almost 2 years and does very well, thanks. You wouldn’t expect to read a magazine or watch TV without seeing commercials; the same goes for people that make their living online. Thanks.

I apologize that I came across harshly. I’m glad your site is doing well, I did find lots of interesting things, and I plan to come back. I guess that answers my own question about the bounce rate.
